After Chris showing me pics of some guys he has watched get “Backwards foot syndrome” while riding (and one during his course) in “adv” boots, I’m convinced that my comfy big cool-looking boots from Forma just don’t offer enough protection. They really don’t offer much protection in terms of crushing or twisting. I’m currently watching and waiting for a good sale on some proper off-road boots.

If you are doing real dirt bike stuff, of course. Lots of people have done lots of dirt bike riding in much less, although it can catch up to you really quick. I do think that the MX boots just put your knees at more risk, though.

You need actual motocross boots as they are much more rigid and offer much better protection than dualsport boots do.
